Removal of old mortar, brickwork cleaned and fully repointed

Before brick cleaning and repointingFirstly we removed timber doors and frames as the customer wanted to replace them once we had fully completed our transformation. Then secondly we sealed up the window frames with specially designed plastic membrane   sheeting.

We then had a 2 tier scaffold erected to cover the front and side of the building. Once up, we began to remove the old loose and crumbling pointing using our mechanical equipment and hand tools.

After all the old existing pointing was fully removed we coated the brickwork in our environmentally friendly solution which we then washed using a pressure washer, taking away with it the dirt and grime that had built up since it was built in late 1950’s

Once cleaned we began to repoint the brickwork in a soft sand and lime mortar mixture using our flush repointing technique which the customer requested. After the pointing was completed, the building was brushed down by hand to remove any excess dust and mortar. The scaffold was dismantled the following day to the customers delight, and all waste and rubbish was taken away by ourselves leaving a beautiful looking barn how it would have looked originally. After brick cleaning and repointing
